Microphone Color Options
Stock availability update: A series of failures at our powder coat shop has resulted in a 2-month delay in shipping. As of February 18, all powder coat microphone body colors are sold out, leaving only anodized satin black in stock. We expect to have some of these other colors back in hand by March 1.
If you are purchasing the S-87, S-47, S-12, T-47, or T-12 kit, use this page to upgrade the microphone body to one of our custom color finishes. This item can only be ordered if there is an S-series or T-series microphone kit in the same shopping cart.
We do not offer alternative colors for the S3 series at this time.
The "Satin Black" finish is an anodized finish. It is a durable treatment that resists scratches. If you choose this option, you'll get a black microphone body with no MicParts logo.
The rest of the colors shown here are powdercoated. Powdercoating is a dry painting process that is oven-cured at 200°C (392°F). In the heat of the oven, the dry pigment particles form an extraordinarily strong surface.
Both these finishes are extremely durable -- much more so than DIY "rattle can" spray paint finishes.
We plan to introduce short-run color options here. We do not plan to stock every color forever. If you see something you like, buy it, because it might not be restocked.
If you choose something that we don't have available, we'll contact you with alternative options. We send bodies for powdercoating 3-4 times per year; some colors will sell out in the meantime.
The Metallic Gold and Matte Green options will be back in stock by February 15.
