Overkill Guitar Amp Speaker Cable
$ 54.00
Purpose-built Guitar Cab Cable
This cable was designed specifically for connecting a guitar amp to a speaker cabinet.
It is almost certainly overkill.
Too Much Is Never Enough
We build these with Mogami W3103 wire and Neutrik TS 1/4-inch connectors.
Mogami W3103 contains two 12AWG conductors (each one is 2mm in diameter) made of "Neglex" OFC (oxygen free copper). The cable is very thick, but surprisingly flexible. The outer jacket is black PVC, 0.47'' (12mm) OD.
W3103 is widely known for its sonic transparency, and has been a top choice for home theater and studio monitors for years.
The Neutrik connector is made of nickel-plated brass. Nickel is known for its corrosion resistance and its durability; it allows this cable to stand up to repeated plug/unplug cycles.
Do you need 12-gauge wire for a 3-foot cable? No, of course not. Does this cable sound better than cheap speaker cables with molded plastic connectors? We definitely think so. This is a very low-DCR, low-capacitance, low-impedance cable. Its obvious heft makes it easy to visually distinguish from a pile of instrument cables. It should provide a lifetime of great sound.
No Break-In Period Required
We cook each cable on our proprietary conditioning device (which sends a full-bandwidth audio signal through the cable at high power) for 40 hours, so you need not worry about a "break-in" or "warm up" period. This cable arrives fully conditioned, and will sound amazing the first time you plug it in.
Cable Length
Our standard length for this cable is 36 inches. This is long enough to go from the amp to a nearby cab or load box.
We can make longer cables by special order; contact us via email.
